Pre-Trek Day: Arrival & Preparation

Upon your arrival in Lombok (Airport, Kuta, Senggigi, or the Gili Islands harbors), the Hans Lombok Trekking team will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation in Sembalun. You will meet your guide for a full briefing, gear check, and have a relaxing evening to prepare for the days ahead.

Day 1: Sembalun Village (1,150m) to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m)

  • 07:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Sembalun.

  • 08:00 AM: Register at the Rinjani National Park Information Center and begin the trek. The morning features a gentle, scenic walk through Lombok’s rolling savannahs.

  • 12:00 PM: Stop at Post 3 (Pada Balong – 1,800m) where your porters will serve a freshly cooked, hot lunch.

  • 01:30 PM – 05:00 PM: Tackle the steep ascent through the Casuarina forest up to the crater rim.

  • 05:00 PM: Arrive at the Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m). Watch a magnificent sunset over the crater lake while your team sets up camp and prepares dinner. Rest up for the summit push!

Day 2: Summit (3,726m) and descend to Segara Anak Lake (2,000m)

  • 02:00 AM: Wake up for a light breakfast (hot tea, coffee, and toast).

  • 02:30 AM: Begin the 3-hour climb to the summit under the stars, navigating steep and loose volcanic terrain.

  • 06:00 AM: Reach the Summit (3,726m)! Celebrate your achievement as the sun rises, illuminating Bali, Sumbawa, and the massive crater below.

  • 07:00 AM – 09:00 AM: Descend back to the Sembalun campsite for a large, well-deserved second breakfast.

  • 10:00 AM: Pack up and begin the 2.5-hour descent into the crater to Segara Anak Lake.

  • 12:30 PM: Arrive at the lake. This is where the 4-day trek shines! While your crew sets up camp and cooks lunch, you have the entire afternoon to relax. Take a short walk to the natural hot springs to soothe your muscles, explore the lakeshore, or even try some local fishing.

  • 06:00 PM: Enjoy dinner and a peaceful night camping right next to the lake under a canopy of stars.

Day 3: Segara Anak Lake to Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m)

  • 07:00 AM: Wake up to a beautiful lakeside morning. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and more time to explore the lake or take one last dip in the hot springs.

  • 12:00 PM: Have lunch at the lake campsite.

  • 01:00 PM: Begin the 2.5 to 3-hour rocky climb out of the crater up to the Senaru Crater Rim.

  • 04:00 PM: Arrive at Plawangan Senaru (2,641m). This campsite offers arguably the most breathtaking sunset view on the entire mountain, looking directly over the lake, the smoking Mount Baru Jari cone, and Mount Agung in Bali.

Day 4: Senaru Crater Rim to Senaru Village (601m)

  • 06:30 AM: Wake up for breakfast and a stunning sunrise.

  • 08:00 AM: Begin the final descent. The rocky trail quickly gives way to a lush, shaded tropical rainforest.

  • 11:30 AM: Stop at Post 2 (Montong Satas) for your final lunch on the mountain. Keep an eye out for the rare black ebony leaf monkeys (Lutung) swinging in the canopy above.

  • 01:00 PM – 01:30 PM: Emerge from the jungle and arrive at the Senaru Trekking Center.

  • 02:00 PM: A private car from Hans Lombok Trekking will be waiting to transport you to your next destination in Lombok (Airport, Senggigi, Bangsal, etc.), bringing your incredible journey to a close.
